Adding a 5-Minute “Talking” Track Between Songs in Setlist

Hi Leo! Is it possible for AbleSet to insert a 5-minute “Talking” track between songs in the setlist? I considered adding a locator in Ableton, but that would increase the number of songs in the setlist, and the count wouldn’t reflect the actual number of songs performed since it would include these 5-minute “Talking” segments. Perhaps you have a better idea?

This would go hand in hand with this feature request: Add same song twice in a set.

This is a feature I’d like to see as well, and it’s on my todo list. In the meantime, you can add a description to your songs with a text like “After: 5 minute talking”.

And add a short section at the end of that song to loop until you’re ready to move on to the next one?

That might be one solution if you don’t want Live’s playback to stop, but you could also enable the stop toggle for the song so AbleSet stops playback at the end of the song

Hey @GOODSHOW,

Following up on this: AbleSet 3.2.0 beta 13 brings a lot of new setlist management features.

You can now add the same song multiple times, so a single talking track can be reused throughout the set.
You can also add notes (and duration to them) as the talking tracks you described, and also split your setlist into parts with headings.

You can see it in action here

I’m looking forward to your feedback!
