This is a huge update to AbleSet with a long list of new features and improvements. Watch the introduction video here.

AbleSet 3 comes in 3 editions – Intro, Standard, and Pro. If you already own an AbleSet license that is still valid, you’ll be able to upgrade to AbleSet 3 Pro at no cost. Just download and install it to get started.

If your license is expired, you can renew it for $75 to upgrade to AbleSet 3 Pro.

For all beta testers, I’ve extended your license so you can upgrade for free. Thank you for contributing to the new version with your feedback!

Here’s a list of the most important new features:

• Canvas (Pro, YouTube Tutorial, Docs)
  • Build completely custom control interfaces with pre-made elements (setlist, lyrics, etc.) and customizable buttons, sliders, and labels that can control Ableton, AbleSet and other devices and apps via OSC and MIDI
  • Similar to TouchOSC, but runs in any browser on any device
• Mixer (Pro, YouTube Tutorial, Docs)
  • Control groups of tracks from any device, supporting mute, solo, and volume changes
• Improved Setlist Editor (YouTube Tutorial, Docs)
  • Saving and loading of setlists inside AbleSet
  • Export and import of setlists as plain text to and from your clipboard
  • Setting colors, descriptions, and more inside the editor
  • Stop descriptions for notes between songs
  • Pre-set delays between songs
• New locator features (YouTube Tutorial, Docs)
  • +LOOP:3 to run a loop three times, with the ability to manually escape it before
  • +SKIP to skip a section and jump directly to the next one
• Improved Lyrics (YouTube Tutorial, Docs)
  • [nochords] and [onlychords] attributes for changing how chords are displayed
  • Support for more chord types, and better transposition
• New buttons with tighter integration into Ableton Live
  • Re-Enable Automation directly from AbleSet, with option to automatically re-enable automation at the end of each song
  • Jump by measures, bars and beats
• Improved MIDI Mapping (YouTube Tutorial)
  • Add mappings that react to any MIDI input
  • Manually add new mappings without needing to connect a MIDI device
  • Use “Press”, “Hold”, and “Double Press” mappings with MIDI notes
• Improvements to AbleNet & Audio Interfaces (Standard, YouTube Tutorial, Docs)
  • Support for more audio interfaces:
    • DAD (Core256, AX64, AX Center)
    • DirectOut (Prodigy, Andiamo, Maven.A)
• Define which computer is the main and backup computer
  • AbleSet can now automatically switch to show the web app of the computer that is currently selected on the connected audio interface
  • New +FOLLOWSCENE (or +FS) flag to automatically mute tracks on the computer that isn’t selected on the connected audio interface

For users who updated from 3.0.0-beta.30, here are the changes:

• Made now() function and the clock synchronize with the host’s system time
• Fixed formatDuration showing “NaN:NaN” when used with an invalid number
• Added a more stable retry mechanism for the EXBOX
• Removed outlines when tabbing between elements
• Split computer-specific settings (AbleNet, etc.) into a separate computer-specific.json file
• Removed the SKIPPED / ALTERNATIVE locators in favor of +END
• Fixed tracks called Click +NM not being recognized as a click track
• Fixed an issue where Live couldn’t keep up with sending updates to AbleSet, resulting in a sluggish feel

Congrats on the 3.0 release! I’m back to ships now (limited internet access) - I tried updating my AbleSet from beta.29 to 3.0.0 but it says I need to renew my license not sure if it’s my incredibly slow internet connection haha

We have just played first set with it

Have 2 more to go

Only issue we are experiencing at the moment is everytime AbleSet loads the next song, it’s loading a couple of seconds into each song

So at the moment we have to keep hitting ‘go to song start’ after it’s loaded everytime

tried uploading video but I cannot on ship crew WiFi

You should be offered an update from within the app, and if your license isn’t valid for AbleSet 3 yet, you should get a notification with a link to renew it. If that doesn’t work, you can download AbleSet 3 from the homepage and install it to update.

You should also have received an email with an overview of your licenses and links to renew them if they’re not valid for AbleSet 3 yet.

just had another look at it today and it’s specifically starting every song on bar 5 in multi file project mode - I will check if this is the same for single project mode but this is currently an issue with 3.0.0
