Section/Song Progress bar is stuttering/not "flowing" smoothly anymore

Hey, I’m working my way through setting up a 2h show with Ableton and ableset. So much to learn!

Now I have a problem that the section and song progress bar is kind of “laggy”/only “stutters” forward. Often does not move at all for a certain amount of time and then “jumps” to its place when stopping playback.

Did not experience that until yesterday - within the same project and computer (m2 pro MacMini, Ableton 12). Until yesterday progress bars were absolutely perfectly smooth. It’s the worst within the canvas, a bit better (but still not as “fluent” as it used to be) in performance view.
Otherwise there is not markedly increased latency in any way.
Same is the case when opening canvas on an iPad connected with the same session.
Ableton Session is quite “light” - like 1h of multitrack audio and 4 midi clips, no plugins etc. Tried already the “zoom” trick = showing only a few minutes on the Ableton arrangement view - no improvement with that.
Any ideas to this?

To understand what’s going on, could you send over a log package including your project files?

Once we have that, we’ll take a closer look and we’ll figure out what’s causing the progress bar stuttering.

Yes, seems to work. On iPad connected via WLAN some small lags, but fully workable right now. Ableset on same computer as Ableton is perfectly smooth again.

The small lags are likely due to latency spikes on the WiFi network. If you’re using a 2.4 GHz connection, switching to 5 or 6 GHz might help :slight_smile:
