Rapid Swapping Between IPs

Hey Leo & Agustin,

I’ve been having an issue for a while but I’m just now finding the time to report it:

So on all devices on the network, whenever the main host computer everything is ‘listening to’ (192.168.1.2) loses connection to AbleSet when I do something like Collect All and Save, every instance of AbleSet that has that IP pulled up will repeatedly failover between the A IP and the B IP (in this case 192.168.1.3). It’ll rapidly change between .2 and .3 several times before randomly landing on one of the two IPs. This also occurs when I refresh the page on any iPad. This isn’t ideal because I have several instances on stage and I’d prefer they stay on one IP even if there is a brief interruption in the connection. I did at one point have the setting ‘Follow Current Audio Interface Scene’ on, but have since turned it off to try and stop the issue. I am using AbleNet and I do have custom IPs specified for both computers. I took a video of the issue and have it attached below.

Hey @JasonBentch, sorry for the late reply on this issue, thank you for reporting it!

I managed to reproduce it on my setup and will ship a fix with the next beta version.

The issue was a discrepancy between the Ableton Live connection state and the scene of the audio interface. If the connection to Live is lost on your A machine, but your audio interface was still on the A scene, the web app would automatically switch to your B machine, but then on the B machine it would see that the audio interface was still on the A scene, so it would switch back to your A machine, which would then repeat the cycle.

Oh amazing! Thanks so much for finding the fix, it’s been a little nerve-wracking to have it happen mid-show. I wonder what caused it to happen with my setup? Something to do with the Prodigy.MP?

Hey @JasonBentch,

The rapid switching between IPS issue has been fixed in AbleSet 3.1.0 Beta 14.
Could you give it a try and let me know how it goes?
