New mode for jump mode

Good evening Leo and friends.
I have been a able set user for sometime now. i spoke with Leo via email years back about jumping through playback. His response was to create “Jump mode” which I Love. There is one issue i have and would like another mode added. This mode is a merge of Quantized and Manual. I can send a video demonstration if you like. But essentially it would be a mode where you can skip through the setlist and have a song ready to fire without triggering it automatically like (quantized mode) but i could fire it without stopping the song and just press play to fire it and let play be the trigger while the previous song is still playing and it fire in quantize.

  • OS and Version: (e.g. macOS sonoma 14.7.2)
  • Version of AbleSet: (e.g. 2.7.5)
  • Version of Ableton Live: (e.g. 11.3.21)

Hey @Jordan_Deshong_Music, thank you for your suggestion!

There’s already an OSC command to jump to the queued song, either quantized or instantly, which you can map to your MIDI controller: /setlist/jumpToQueued (docs)

So you could keep your Jump Mode set to “Manual” and map this OSC command to your MIDI controller using AbleSet’s MIDI Mapping page to jump to the queued song.

Let me know if this works for your use case

Hey @Jordan_Deshong_Music,

I’ve just released a new beta, AbleSet 3.0.0-beta.20, that shows two new buttons when you queue a section in Manual, End of Song, or End of Section mode.

These buttons allow you to either jump to the queued song or section instantly, or, if the queued position has a locator, in a way that respects Live’s global quantization.

Here’s a video of the feature in action:

Does this work for your use case?
