ANDIAMO Support in AbleSet 3

Hello @leolabs ,
I’m working on the tour as duo with @clmtfrt .
I installed the latest beta you upload, and after a few hours of use, Globcon stopped recognizing the Andiamo.
I fixed the issue by downloading a previous version of Ableset.
However, the Andiamo still wasn’t showing up in ableset.
i didn’t attach the log package since i reverted to an earlier version of Ableset.

PS: I don’t know if it’s related, but when i lost the connexion between the Globcon and the Andiamo, Ableton live 12 crashed and became impossible to relaunch.
I had to shotdown and restart all the power supplies before i could open it again.
Do you think there could be a link between the two ?

Thank you very much for your response !
Loïc.

Hey @Loic_Grenouillet, welcome to the forum!

That’s an interesting issue I haven’t heard about yet. The log package contains logs from the last 7 days or so, so it might still contain useful information even when after reverting to an earlier version of AbleSet.

Could you DM or email it to me so I can take a closer look at this?

That sounds unusual, but not impossible. Are your computers connected to the Andiamo via USB for audio output? Describing your setup and how everything is connected might help to figure out what’s causing these issues.

I’m looking forward to your reply!

Hi Léo,
Thank you for your reply. The audio goes through an RME Madiface USB and is then distributed via MADI to the Andiamo, which is connected to the RME in a network setup.
Here are the logs I made last week!

Have a great day!

Hey @Loic_Grenouillet,

Please excuse the long radio silence! I’ve checked the logs and found a bunch of “Host Unreachable” errors related to your Andiamo. This might be caused by macOS blocking local network access for AbleSet. You can check this by going to your Mac’s Privacy & Security settings, clicking “Local Network”, and ensuring the toggle next to AbleSet is enabled.

If the toggle is already enabled, you could try disabling and re-enabling it and check if that helps. There’s a bug in Sequoia 15.2 that sometimes prevents apps from accessing the local network even if they have permissions. This should be fixed in macOS 15.3

I hope this helps!

Hello,

We checked this action with @Loic_Grenouillet , but it still doesn’t work. By the way, I upgraded to Mac OS 15.3, but no change.
If you have any other ideas, we’re all ears!

See you later

Hey @clmtfrt,

I’m sorry to hear that! Could you send me another log package with the new version of macOS so I can take a closer look again?

Also, are you able to use Globcon on the same machine?

I’m looking forward to your reply!

Hey,

No problem!
Here is the latest log file!

Yes, I can access my Andiamo via Globcon on the computer.
See you later

Hey @clmtfrt, sorry for my late reply on this issue!

I’ve checked the logs, but some clues were still missing as to what might be going wrong.

I just published a new beta version that logs more detailed information about the connection to DirectOut devices. Could you try it out and send me another log package if the connection still doesn’t work?

I’m looking forward to your reply!

Hi,
Here is the latest log file!

Thanks for continuing to look, I appreciate it!

Hey @clmtfrt, thank you for the logs!

It seems that the ANDIAMO doesn’t respond to one of the commands that AbleSet sends to it, which leads AbleSet to believe that the device must be offline, even though other commands go through.

I’ve contacted DirectOut about it to see if this is a bug or expected behavior and will publish a new beta with a workaround soon.

Let me know if you have any further questions or feedback in the meantime
