so I just updated from Ableset 2 to 3, same machines, same exact session nothing changed except updating Ableset. now when I open the session, it shows a blank setlist and says “your setlist is empty, add some cues”
I tried loading a .json file and I click it but nothing loads.
I tried deleting the Ableset project cache folder and also nothing.
Please help!

I came In to help Troubleshoot day of show so we are under the gun here, any fast help is appreciated!!!
My hunch is that the AbleSet plugin failed to update properly. To troubleshoot this, could you try the following steps?
Quit AbleSet and Live
Delete the AbleSet plugin from your Ableton User Library (usually in ~/Music/Ableton/User Library/Remote Scripts/AbleSet)
Start AbleSet again, then click the settings button in the top right of the status window and select “Add AbleSet Plugin to Ableton”
Follow the plugin installer, then start Live again
If that doesn’t help, could you create a log package so I can take a closer look? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”.
You can also include a video of the issue if you like. All files can be uploaded to my support inbox.
so for this show today, we reverted back to ableset 2.7.5, besides it not loading the setlist, I actually also was able to get it to show the setlist when I loaded an older session, but then ableset was just behaving glitchy. when I clicked to edit the setlist, it took super long, then it wouldn’t save changes. so we just ran out of time, and had to bail on 3. but I have it on my personal laptop and will see if it behaves the same way. its staring to make me wonder if its somehow an issue with the session files (which I have not been in control of this whole tour-just helping out to fix things) - rather than ableset itself. but that wouldn’t explain why 2.7.5 seems to be working with no issues so far. I’ll try to recreate and send a log package. thanks!!
uploaded a log package! of course, now that I opened a slightly older session, it populated the list. then when I re-opened the current one, it also populated now. going to try and re-create it again.
AbleSet 3 has a slightly different way of communicating with Live which ensures that all commands actually go through, but which also takes longer to deal with large projects.
I’m currently working on optimizing this and will test it with your project to make sure everything works smoothly again with the next update
Gotcha. so is it a known issue that it can be unstable with large projects? do you know what might be the threshold for “large”? I am no longer on the road with the rig, so I’m trying to get their people to send me the log package, hopefully they can soon! will upload what I can soon and update you here. Thanks Leo!
The last project I noticed issues with had around 62000 lyrics, sections, and measures clips and a length of around 10 hours, which caused the connection between AbleSet and Live to become sluggish, so that’s what I’d define as large.

Gotcha! Yeha I’d love to try it, and for other reasons I want to get them updated to Ableset 3, but as I mentioned, when we did that it was super glitchy and slow and showing the empty setlist. So I think they are definitely afraid to update when on the tour. I’ve reached out to try and get logs from them on all these things and hopefully will get something back!
