This beta changes how AbleSet communicates with Live, switching from a UDP-based protocol to a WebSocket-based one. This improves the performance and latency significantly, especially for large projects, and makes the connection more reliable. If you’re interested in the details, you can see the changes here.
I’ve tested the new protocol thoroughly, but I’d recommend that you test this beta thoroughly as well with your project before using it on stage.
Unfortunately, the new protocol requires at least Live 11, so I had to drop support for Live 10. If you’re still using Live 10, please stay on 3.1.
Setlist
- Added remaining section duration and improved the accuracy of remaining song/set times
- Added a new option to highlight the active and queued song and section with more contrast so you can see it more easily
- Added a “Loading Songs…” message while locators and section clips are being loaded
- Before, you’d see the “No songs” message which was confusing
- Improved the look of short loops in the setlist
- Fixed section clips preventing cues from ever loading in some project files
- Fixed the loop counter jumping from 0 to 2 on the 2nd loop
- Fixed the loop counter increasing when jumping back in the middle of the loop
Canvas
- Added options to transpose chords and pin a specific line using a dynamic template
- Added
type-classes to element containers for easier styling - Improved the slug generation, so a Canvas named “iPad” is now available at
canvas/ipadinstead of/canvas/i-pad - Fixed button icons being faded even when no label is set
Cues
- Fixed cues not being re-sent properly when a new AbleSet Cues plugin is loaded
- Fixed count-ins not working in Multi-File projects sometimes
OSC
- Added the ability to define a bind host for incoming messages in OSC connections
- Added a new
/setlist/isAutoStoppedvalue - Improved the
/setlist/nextSection*values, so they now respect transition flags - Improved the
/devices/setLineOverridefunction so you can now change the pinned line (docs) - Fixed the OSC destroy commands for connections never being sent
Audio Interfaces
- Added experimental support for DirectOut ACE interfaces
- Fixed discovery of DAD devices running even if the computer isn’t connected to any network
AbleNet
- Fixed setlists sometimes not being synchronized automatically after starting AbleSet
