Hi Leo,
We have 3 songs that when jumped to, could be from any song, it needs to stop playback. Our set is random so putting a marker at the end of a song won’t work, it’s not always the same song before the song needing to stop playback.
Thanks,
Abe
Hey @abe.saenz,
The easiest way to handle this is with the +PAUSE flag right at the beginning of each of those 3 songs. For example, if the first section of a song is called “Count-in”, you’d rename that locator to:
> Count-in +PAUSE
Whenever AbleSet jumps to that song — from anywhere in the set — playback will pause right at the start. You can then press play when you’re ready.
This works regardless of song order, so it’s perfect for a random set.
Would that work for your use case?
Thank for the reply Agustín,
I did try +pause and it didn’t seem to work. I forgot to mention that I’m
using multi project, my first marker is the song title and I have it set to
song starts here. I’m not sure if any of those are contributing to the
+pause not working. Do I need the > before the name?
Thanks,
Abe
Hey @abe.saenz,
Are you using a Sections Track? If not, that would be the cleanest way to set this up, especially with multi-file projects. It gives you more control over sections without having to rely solely on locators.
I’ve put together a quick screen recording to show you what the setup could look like:
You can see how the playhead automatically stops at the
Count-In +PAUSE section.
In the meantime, could you share a screenshot or short recording of how your Ableton session is currently structured? That’ll help me figure out exactly what’s going on.
I’m looking forward to your reply!
