Tempo +/- Buttons for MIDI Mapping

Hi Léo,

Would it be possible to add two tempo buttons (+ and -) to the existing AbleSet M4L device, making them MIDI mappable? This would allow increasing or decreasing the BPM on the fly.

I know there are other M4L devices that do this, but integrating it into AbleSet would make a lot of sense in terms of flexibility, just like the group mixer was integrated.

Do you think this would be feasible? Curious to hear your thoughts!

That’s a good idea!

I’m not sure if AbleSet would be able to re-enable the tempo automation programmatically, so once the tempo is overridden, it would stay that way until you manually re-enable the tempo automation in Live. Would that be a deal breaker?

Thanks, Leo! Yes, I completely understand that AbleSet might not be able to automatically re-enable tempo automation in Live. In some songs, I have a Tempo Track set as Lead—specifically, the ones with tempo variations—so I wouldn’t expect AbleSet to handle that in those cases. Not a deal-breaker at all.

I was thinking of this feature more for songs with a fixed BPM, I think it would be an amazing addition to the AbleSet M4L device.
