Steeadeck Companion Pi and Ableset

Hello
I’ve been using AbleSet with a Stream Deck mounted on a Raspberry Pi (running Companion Pi) for the past two years.

In my previous setup, I used two separate AbleSet connections in Companion: one connected to the main computer and the other to the spare. This allowed me to control AbleSet on the main from one page of the Stream Deck and switch to control the spare from another page (in case the main fails).

However, with the latest versions of AbleSet, I can no longer do this. Whenever I try to set up two AbleSet connections in Companion—one targeting the main computer’s IP and the other the spare’s IP—one of the connections gets disconnected.

IP mini Mac MAIN : 192.168.2.11/24
IP mini Mac SPARE : 192.168.2.12/24
IP Raspberry Pi : 192.168.2.14/24

Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • **Version of AbleSet: 2.7.4
  • **Version of Ableton Live: 12.1.1

Hey @clmtfrt, welcome to the forum!

Does the issue persist when you downgrade to an older version of AbleSet? You can download all versions here: Releases - AbleSet Forum

Is it always the connection to your 2nd machine that fails? If so, does it start working when you disable the connection to your 1st one?

The Companion logs might also give us some insights into why the connection to your 2nd machine fails. You should find them by clicking the three-dot button next to each connection.

Feel free to DM or post the logs if you like, then I can take a look at them
