TLDR; A “Sub-Type” for Sections that appear in Canvases but are not spoken by Cues
Eg. Cues: "... Breakdown-2-3-4..." NO DETAILS
Canvas: Chorus 3B -> Breakdown 1A WITH DETAILS
Absolutely love all the new Cues features, would love to request one more! I’ve got each song set to have cues with beats at 0 bars [c:0:beats], and then on certain section clips I override that to be a 2 bar cue with [c:2] - works absolutely flawlessly, I love the work flow Leo. My only issue is I have laid out my sections in small chunks with more information (Breakdown 2A, Pre-Chorus 3B), but in my audible cues I only want to hear “Breakdown, 2, 1-2-3-4” rather than “Breakdown 2A, 2…” - it becomes confusing as an audible cue and often doubles the syllables having to be spoken. Using descriptions works on the cues side but then all your canvas layouts become Chorus → Chorus → Chorus → Chorus. Anyway, that’s my problem and I’m sure someone can up with a more elegant solution than I can !

AbleSet 3.2.0 beta 12 just came out and it adds a notation that covers exactly this. Anything you write in double curly brackets defines how the section is spoken, while the name itself stays as it is. For example:
Breakdown 2A {{Breakdown}}
Pre-Chorus 3B {{Pre-Chorus}}
That way your Canvas layouts can keep showing “Breakdown 2A” and “Pre-Chorus 3B”, while the cue only says “Breakdown” or “Pre-Chorus”. If you’d rather keep the number in the cue, you can use {{Breakdown 2}} instead.
It should work together with your count-in attributes as well, e.g. Breakdown 2A [c:2] {{Breakdown}} for “Breakdown, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4”.
Since this is a beta, I’d recommend testing it before taking it on stage and keeping a backup of your project, as Canvases edited in 3.2 might not open in older versions.
