I am trying to use OSC to send messages at specific times (using +OSC and address in track name).
Everything works great if I use my local address (127.0.0.1 or my computer’s IP) but if I try to send to another computer on my network, nothing is sent at all. (Protokol doesn’t receive anything for example.
I know my network and addresses are working fine because I can send OSC messages (not using the +OSC Ableton track but another device) and everything works great.
Not sure what the problem might be….
OS and Version: macOS Sequoia 15.7.3 (both computers)
Could you send me your project file so I can take a look at what might be causing this? Just the .als file should suffice. If you like, you can also send me a video of your setup and the issue, that often helps with troubleshooting. You can upload the files to my support inbox.
My hunch is that this is a firewall issue where AbleSet is blocked from sending OSC messages (UDP packets) to other devices on your network.
Sent, thank you. Firewalls are off on both computers, local network allows ableset on both computers, and OSC is working just fine using any other means of sending OSC. not sure why the Ableton track method doesn’t work (only works locally) but I’ll let you look at the file. Thank you so much
Please excuse my late reply on this issue! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to reproduce it on my end so far. Is this still occurring on your system?
I think the issue was only because I was using the trial version while testing if I would make the switch to Ableset. Now that I have a full license (and the differences between pricing and tiers was explained quite well) it’s working perfectly. Thanks for quick and awesome support.
