Mute track when not in setlist

I know there are a couple of different ways I could probably manually control this, but I’m curious if this is even a future option or something that could be implemented down the road.

Currently, I have a lead-in track playing before another track would start. Sometimes, I don’t want that track to be playing and don’t have it on the setlist. Unfortunately, if I don’t want it to play, even if it’s not on the setlist there’s a 3ish second overlap where the track would still have audio output while doing the count-ins for the song. So right now if the song isn’t in the setlist as the intro to that track, I have to go into ableton and mute the intro so that while the count-in is playing for us we don’t have the intro sending out to FOH.

Hey @Gregg_M, welcome to the forum!

That’s an interesting idea, and it sounds like it could be a useful feature.

In the meantime, a possible workaround would be to use a Simpler device to trigger the last part of the previous song just before it ends. This will keep playing even when Live jumps to the next song.

Here’s a quick video to demo what I mean: Cutting off transients when playing next song - #2 by leolabs

I hope this helps
