Multiple hosts/instances of ableset

Hi!

And thank you for Ableset!

Is it possible to run ableset on 3 or more computers, and defining which hosts belong together?

I would like to use ableset on both a track setup and and a keyboard setup, not running the same ableton session, but still on same network, making it possible to access both ablenet from a remote iPad.

Hope it makes sense.

Hey @Lenz, welcome to the forum!

If you’d like to use multiple instances of AbleNet in the same network, you can tell AbleSet which computers to connect to using the “Connect to Custom IPs” field in the AbleNet settings on each machine.

Let’s say your machines have the following IPs:

  • Playback A: 192.168.1.101
  • Playback B: 192.168.1.102
  • Keys A: 192.168.1.201
  • Keys B: 192.168.1.202

You’d enter the following IPs in the “Connect to Custom IPs” field of your machines:

  • Playback A: 192.168.1.102
  • Playback B: 192.168.1.101
  • Keys A: 192.168.1.202
  • Keys B: 192.168.1.201

Alternatively, if your keys computer is not part of a redundant setup, you can simply disable AbleNet on it to prevent it from syncing to your other machines.

Let me know if this helps!
