I think I have an issue with my MC6 not working anymore. I’ve searched the forum, found someone posting about the FCB not working anymore, but I can’t get mine fixed.
I’ve tried connecting directly to my M1 MacMini no luck, and my playback rig (2 2015 Minis) with a playAudio12 and a mioXL no luck either. I’ve deleted all commands and reassigned them, but no luck up to this point.
latest version of Ableset and latest version of Ableton 11.
EDIT: I’ve tried using my Novation Midi Keyboard on another port of the mioXL and could make it work (mapping and controlling Ableset).
Midi Monitor shows signals (notes) from my MC6.
Don’t know what else I could check. USB cable isn’t the issue either (I checked multiple). Also checked different USB ports on the mioXL.
OK, I think figured this one out by myself. @leolabs maybe this might also be interesting for you to know.
When setting up the MC6 sending midi notes, the velocity is set to 0, it used to work on my setup, but now it doesn’t trigger Ableton anymore (nor did it trigger anything in Ableset). I changed all velocities to 127 and it mysteriously started to work again (I did first test it directly with midi mapping in Ableton and after that checked Ableset).
So if you send midi notes, don’t be like me and send a good velocity as 0 does not trigger hope this helps.
There are some inconsistencies around the MIDI specification where some devices send a Note On with a velocity of 0 instead of a Note Off message, which led to a few bugs in AbleSet’s MIDI mapping.
The latest version fixes those by interpreting a Note On with 0 velocity as a Note Off message to support these non-standard controller inputs, which is likely why it broke on your end with the latest update.
