Hello, I use ableset for my show to manage my set list, show my lyrics un real time. I had very big set live (100 songs in one live set) with locator for star, section and stop. I connected my n anopad 2 to linke 4 buttons (play, stop, next song and prev song. During show, before end of song, I navigae with button next or prev and ne next song I selected blink. When song finshed, I was able to start new seelected song. It xas perfect. Due to droout problem, I have to change to multi files project. I split all songs and switch ableset to multifile management. Loading of song is little bit slow but no choice. But My big concern is when I navigate with midi controler button next and prev button, the sytem load the song but mayeb I want to jump 2 songs. How can I navigate to the songs to select next song during another one plays and able to load when I push button. I don’t know if I’m clear my english is not so good

What you’re describing makes sense, and there are two settings that together will get you back to the workflow you had before.
Both are in Settings → Playback.
1. Delay Before Jumping to Song File
This one only appears when you’re using a Multi-File Project. It adds a short delay before AbleSet actually loads a project file when you use the next/prev buttons. With a delay set, you can press next a few times in a row to move 2 (or more) songs ahead, and AbleSet will only load the final song you land on, instead of loading each one immediately.
Options are None, 500ms, 1s, 2s, 3s. Adjust that to taste. The bigger the delay, the more time you have to skip multiple songs before it loads.
2. Jump Mode
This controls when AbleSet jumps to the song you selected. For the “next song blinks while the current one keeps playing, then starts when it finishes” behavior you had before, set it to either:
- End of Song — queues and highlights the selected song, then jumps when the current song ends.
- Dynamic — sections jump at the end of the current section, songs jump at the end of the current song. This is the closest to how a single big set behaves.
Since you’re now in multi-file, the experience won’t be 100% identical to the single set you had before, because each song is a separate file that needs to load. But the combination of the delay + End of Song / Dynamic gets you very close.

Thanks for your reply. I checked seting and it was correctly tune except delay. I had delay now. But I can’t select another songs with controler. When I click next, system doesn’t blink. I can do it when song is stoped, but my objective is to preselect next song before end of current song. Even with mouse, others song are not selectable as I did with one file project. To load song system need 10 s with big PC (last CPU and 64 G RAM, NVME drive). It is very long and I don’t want to add tiem to select song. This is why I ant to preselect next song (queued) and when Song finishs, system load the song I preselect. Do you have a way for that ? Thanks

With the jump mode set to End of Song or Dynamic, you can queue the next song while the current one is still playing — it gets highlighted your setlist, and the new project file will load when the current song finishes. The loading happens during the transition (it can’t preload in the background while another song plays, if that’s what you’re asking), but the preselecting itself works during playback.
So the fact that it’s not highlighting when you press next during playback might point to how your controller buttons are triggering the action.
A couple of things would help figure out what’s going on:

How did you map your next and prev buttons? Are they mapped to the Next Song / Prev. Song actions in AbleSet’s MIDI mapping, or to something else (Custom OSC, etc.)?

If possible, could you share a short screen recording showing what happens when you press next during playback, what you see versus what you expect?

Hi, As requested, you will find attached picture and videos. Picture is the settings of my ableset. Video is behavior of show. With nanopad2 I start song, during song playing, I tried to move to another song to preselect it but click dosn’t work. I try with mouse to select another song, nos action possible to set list. When song is stop, I can move with nanopad into my list. What I want is to be bale to move into the list to select next song during sing playing and when song arrive to the end, system load (if I need to click it’s ok) song presect (blinking). Thanks for your help.

I missed that you’d already mentioned multi-file in your original post, so let me correct my previous reply.
In a multi-file set, queuing or jumping to another song while playback is running isn’t possible, this is by design. You can only select/queue another song when playback is stopped.

Thanks for your reply. It’s very bad news because I have no choice to use multi files project due to dropouts sound. But in this mode it is not efficient if I can’t pre select next song in queued list. I have to choose another product . It’s a pity. Maybe one day you will add this features which is for me basic features. Live is not ableton to work with big file and impose to use multi files project. Thanks for your time. Have a good day.
