I’ve been scouring the website and YouTube to find a solution with no luck, as of yet.
The goal I’m trying to achieve is to have my laptop run setlist/performance view and send the lyrics to a separate screen (teleprompter on floor). If anybody has an info that could help I would greatly appreciate it.
I love this program and it’s changed my workflow significantly in the last few months!
I use OBS and send out an NDI feed. I just add a browser source and set it to the lyrics view I need.
You could also download the NDI Tools by Newtek and use Scan Converter (Mac) or HX (Windows) and open it with any NDI viewer on a separate device that is connected to the floor monitor.
editing to add, I run Obs on a separate computer. It’s not on the same device as Ableton or Ableset. That would make me nervous to run all of that on the same device although I’m sure it could handle it
You can open Ableset on as many separate devices as you like as long as you’re on the same LAN (you could use a cheap router from Walmart or a hotspot from your phone) You could use an iPad and connect it to the tv, or even a cheap Chromebook. I keep a Chromebook in our drum booth for our drummer and it always has the drum notes and producer notes rolling during the songs. I hope this helps! Feel free to let me know if you need any assistance setting it up.
Thank you for the insight and advice!
I was really hoping to run it from the same device to cut down on points of failure and setup time. We use an iPad running separate software currently but, even having the time code synched would be very helpful.
Gotcha. Well yeah you for sure can run it on the same device. Open the browser and pull up the view you want to see, then you could run an HDMI cable to the floor monitor and just put the second window on that screen (assuming distance isn’t a factor). That’d be the simplest solution.
