Unless I am missing something, any clip track with the +LYRICS flag, and with chords inside of brackets (the chordpro standard?), AS pushes those Chords above the lyrics when the song is played. Yet, I have musicians that like the embedded chords inter-mingled with the lyrics. Could there be an AS track flag (like +LYRICSplain or +LYRICSchords) that would simply leave the clip and the chords as is ?

That’s a good idea and should be easy to implement. I’ll add it to my todo list
The attribute could be called something like [plain]
or [plainchords]
, though the latter might be a bit long.
I also thought [Plain] would work. So would [plain] go in the track name after +LYRICS (or “+PLAIN” ) ? Or added to every clip (which might be a bit of maintenance, but also adds flexibility)
In this case, [plain]
would go after the +LYRICS
