Hello, not super new to ableset but I’m new to the forum. I am trying to midi map to a alesis strike multiple. The Toggle Loop feature will only turn on the loop bot not turn it off. I tried using the loop feature in ablesets Home Screen and realized the same issue. The only way to turn off the loop is to go into ableton and toggle it off. Has anyone else dealt with this? Claude couldn’t figure it out for me but I feel like this is probably a easy fix
Hey @travisminardi, welcome to the forum!
I’d like to first make sure the Strike isn’t sending more than one message per hit. If a single press reaches AbleSet twice, Toggle Loop would turn the loop off and right back on, which would look like it never turns off at all.
Could you open a MIDI monitor app, hit the pad you use to turn the loop off, and share a screenshot of what comes in? Or just describe the activity you see there. On macOS you can use MIDI Monitor, and on Windows MIDI-OX. Alesis also has a short guide on setting these up. It’d be good to know how many messages arrive per hit, and whether they come in through more than one port.
A short screen recording of the issue would also help a lot, showing AbleSet and Ableton Live while you try to turn the loop off, both with the Strike and with the loop button in AbleSet.
On top of that, could you please create a Log Package? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s icon tray, clicking the gear icon, and then selecting “Create Log Package”. Please make sure to include your project files as well (just the .als files, no audio needed). To send the files, you can upload them to AbleSet’s support inbox.
I’m looking forward to your reply!
Hi @agustinvolpe, thanks for the reply. I did exactly like you said and uploaded the files to the support inbox. I appreciate the quick response.
