I just signed up today and excited to get stuck into a more streamlined Ableton workflow.
I am going to the studio tomorrow to try it out redundant with my playaudio1U.
Do I need another licence for the second laptop running Ableton?
And I’v seen devices connected to a network switch BUT to connect wireless phones/tablets to the network I am thinking of connecting both computers to a wifi router so I can have wireless devices on the network, mostly just for monitoring reasons as I’ll have my midi controller hardwired into the playaudio1U for sending CC messages.
Will both computers run on ablenet with the plugin version in the session with ablenet deactivated for that?
I’m assuming this is a common way of running it so I’m basically asking for any tips or things people have run into which they wished they’d known.
Each license of AbleSet can be activated on up to two computers at once, so in your case, you only need one license.
Your setup should work fine, that’s how I do it for our band as well. Let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions while setting everything up
Thank you. I didn’t see this but worked it out myself.
Fantastic software!
I’m having an issue of when a song is stopped, and for rehearsals I want to start e.g. at the chorus, in ableset I select the chorus and press “play” and it jumps to the start of the song. Is there a setting to allow it to start wherever is selected in the song?
Hmm, that shouldn’t happen. Could you DM me a log package along with a video of this behavior so I can take a closer look? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”.
If the files are too large to DM, you can also upload them to my support inbox.
