Greetings,
So I have this weird issue where when I load my setlist (it’s quite big with a lot of songs) if I just try to play it Ableset will be super laggy. Metronome out of sync, jumping beats, “add song dialog” lagging, play/stop as well. Playback is fine, CPU in Ableton is around 30-40%, no issues there. I also make sure there’s plenty of time for the samples and templates to load before trying (usually load 45 mins before show time)
However, if I just “save as” a new set and give it a random name (without collecting media, just the .als file) everything becomes snappy again. Not sure if it’s an Ableton problem even or Ableset, I tried to diagnose the logs with Claude without much success.
This is happening on an iPad connected to a Mac mini via ethernet, showing 1ms latency so network is not at play here as far as I know.
I’ll include a log of the original set (that was laggy at the time of testing) and the one I “saved as” right after, that worked perfectly.
Small quality of life problem I guess but since my stage computer is a Mac mini with no screen it’s a pain to remote into it before every show just to “save as”.
Thanks!
