JUMPGUIDE Behavior Question

I am not sure if I am misunderstanding what the default behavior for the JUMPGUIDE feature is.

In this case, I have a song that plays a big chorus, and then I have my set jumping over two sections, big bridge and refrain, straight to a down chorus at the end. However, I want to have the option go to the big bridge should there be extra time or we are feeling like we need stay up.

My thought was that I would set the JUMPGUIDE to call for the chorus and if we do not go to the bridge, it calls the chorus and jumps which is working. But my assumption would be that if I queued that bridge, Ableset would mute +JUMPGUIDE and unmute +GUIDE, as I would now be going to the “next section” linearly, but that is not happening.

Am I misunderstanding the behavior or is mine not acting properly?
Attaching a video for reference.

Nobody’s got nothing??

Hey @calebstephen! Thanks for the detailed explanation and the video, and please excuse my late reply.

What you’re seeing is actually intended behavior:

  • +JUMPGUIDE is unmuted to call the programmed jump.
  • If you cue a different section, AbleSet waits until the first downbeat of the cued section to switch:
    • +JUMPGUIDE → muted
    • +GUIDE → unmuted

So the switch does not happen at the moment you cue the new section — it happens when playback enters that section.
That’s why you still hear the +JUMPGUIDE call before the change.

In short:
Your setup is working correctly, and the behavior you’re experiencing is by design.

If you’d like this to work differently in the future, feel free to post it as a feature suggestion here on the forum.
