Jump to prev section, or last section of prev song if at start of a song (and similar with next)

Describe your issue here:

I want to connect buttons on my MIDI controller to move backward/forward through the sections, and if it reaches the start/end of a song (no more sections) I’d like it to jump to the prev/next section in the adjacent song.

As it stands, the options I’ve tried don’t move past the bounds of the current song. I’ve tried both the “Prev Section” mapping, and the /setlist/jumpBySections -1 OSC, with and without force=true

Is there already a way to do this? This would be very helpful, e.g. when in rehearsal I need to run the last section of a song when the AbleSet playhead has already jumped to the next song. As it stands, I need to jump back to the start of the previous song (Prev Song) then scroll through all the sections in that song to get to the last on (Next Section).

Thanks!

Hey @dbarrell, thank you for your suggestion!

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible at this time, but I’ll see if I can implement this in the next beta version of AbleSet. I’ve added it to my to do list and will keep you updated on the progress

Hi, I’m agree with you! I’am a drummer and I use a 4 pads mutlipad:
STOP, PLAY, PREV, NEXT. I had to choose the “Sections” buttons instead of the “Songs” buttons, but if I have to navigate from the last section to the next section wich is a new song, I can’t.
And sections are very useful when you have to (re)organize the setlist and move one song with 15 sections.

Hoping there will be a way. Good luck with that

@tombell.drums - He released a new beta version with this functionality a couple of days ago: AbleSet 3.0.0-beta.9 (see under the OSC header)

(thanks Leo!)
