Hey Guys,
Doing up a batch up new songs - I’m using the Lyric Generator which is saving a lot of time ( Thanks Leo ) but I’m still doing quite a bit of work moving clips around - getting the to sit in the right place.
They seem to be 2 Bar chunks by default… Is there anyway to change this?
I can’t seem to find a way to select all midi clips once in Ableton and say “Double Length” or make them however long you need… Am i missing something?
Cheers
T
Hey @Trent_Crawford,
As of now, there’s no way to change the default length of clips in the lyrics tool, unfortunately, but you could try using the built-in timing functions to automatically adjust the clip positions to your song.
Would that work for you?
Thanks Leo.
I have tried that - but I find it quicker to just dump unsynced lyrics in and then quickly move em around to where they need to be.
After doing a dozen or so songs this week I’ve found a flow that works for me.
I’m glad to hear that! What workflow are you using now?
Just as a mentioned above basically… Paste lyrics into generator, download them unsynced, drag into Ableton. Cut them from start of session, delete that new track, and paste the lyrics roughly halfway along song I’m working on. Then drag the 1st 1/3 or so lyrics back to start of verse 1 and start dragging them out to correct bars / spots….
What I really need is a way to highlight all the new lyric midi clips and be able to double all of them with one click, or stretch them all to the same length with a keyboard command…
But - I am being pretty picky here / it’s not the biggest issue in the world to have to manually move them around.
