FIX: Playback returns to beginning of timeline when running a set of songs files as a single set

Problem:
While running Ableset , and using Ableton to play an entire set of songs in the timeline (arrangement view), clicking on a different song (in Ableset) won’t start the new song - it sends the playback head to the very first song in the set. It DOES work if the playback head is currently running, but not when it is stopped:

Solution:

  1. Go into Ableton - Arrangement View
  2. Right-click on the very first marker at the start of your set. (Probabaly the name of your first song in the set.)
  3. Uncheck Set Start Song Time Here (it’s at the bottom of the dropdown menu.)
  4. Save.

That worked for me.

Hi Eric, welcome to the forum!

Yes — this is expected behavior coming from Ableton Live.

When “Set Start Song Time Here” is enabled on the very first locator of your set, Live will always force the playhead back to the start of the project whenever you jump to a song while playback is stopped.

Once you disable that option, Live behaves normally again and AbleSet can jump to the selected song.

So adjusting that setting should make everything work exactly as you described.
