Is there a way (besides the stop description marker in 3.0.0) to add a visual display like pauze / encore (without having to make a locator in Ableton)? When a make a locator it becomes a song and I have to make a skip to the Next song. I only want a rule in the setlist like the stop description but not connected to a song.
Hey @Arno_Schlijper,
If what you want is to have a placeholder in your setlist that’s not a song, you could just add a locator to your Live’s timeline and use the [nosong] attribute.
That way, AbleSet will treat it as such, e.g ENCORE [nosong].
Keep in mind that non-songs are still counted toward the total setlist time. If you don’t want that, you can override the duration in the locator as well, e.g. ENCORE [nosong][00:00]
Would that work for your use case?
I’m looking forward to your reply!
Thanx for your reply!
That’s not quite what I’ve in mind. If I use the [nosong] Ableset still looks at it as a song. So when I press play it plays the ENCORE [nosong]… What I’d like is actually what the stop description does: So a black ruler / placeholder which isn’t a playable song. But a stop description is connected to a song, so when I move a song, the ENCORE will move with it. I’m looking for a seperate placeholder.
Hey @Arno_Schlijper,
I get what you’re aiming for with a separate, non-playable placeholder, though at the moment those are essentially the options that exist in AbleSet.
If the [nosong]attribute doesn’t fit your workflow, the best workaround for now is to use Stop Descriptions and edit them once your setlist order is finalized.
Hope that helps!
