Fades on OSC Commands

Hey Leo,

I’ve implemented AbletonOSC into my setup and it has been working a treat with Ableset! I was just wondering if there’s a way to currently send an OSC command with a fade value?

I have some buttons that trigger clips in session view to apply some FX over a period of time, which I’ve been able to easily trigger now with Ableset and AbletonOSC… however this requires Ableton to be playing, so if I want to adjust these FX with the clips, it will start live’s playback if it isn’t already going… I’ve found a Max4Live device that will let me control 5 different parameters with OSC - I’ve got it all setup and working with Ableset for all my tracks groups and now it isn’t affected by playback at all… BRILLIANT…! What I haven’t figured out though, is how to put a fade on the value being sent out of Ableset to Ableton. I tried doing similar to the fade in and out commands you’ve added, but it didn’t seem to work for this scenario.
I understand this just could be a limitation of the Max4Live plugin, but thought I’d reach out anyway; in case there was a solution already!

Thank you so much for everything you do, it has been a huge help for me!

Hey @Adam_Molinaro,

Unfortunately, sending a fading value isn’t possible with just AbleSet at this time, but you might be able to modify your Max for Live device to use fades using the [line] object if you’re comfortable with their editor.

Let me know if this would work for you and feel free to reach out if you have any further questions

Okay no worries at all!
I will have a look into it and see what I can make happen haha
