I’m currently running and enjoying the new AbleSet 3 version. With this release you are able to copy and paste the setlist for eg into your notes, to send it to your mates. I’m making a lot of notes in my songs (using the curly brackets). Is there a way or opportunity to copy / export a song with its information / notes as well, so I could send them to my bandmates?
Right now, what’s possible is copying and pasting entire setlists from Setlist Edit Mode , either on a computer or a phone, just like shown in the tutorial here.
At the moment though, this does not include song descriptions or stop descriptions, and there isn’t a dedicated way to export a single song together with its curly-bracket notes.
That said, I’ll pass this along. This is definitely valuable feedback and will be taken into account for future improvements!
I’ll add this to the next beta version, so copied setlists will look like this:
I've Got Lost
Along The Way {Ab}
-- Announce Album release --
Roads {Test // Guitar Change}
Interlude
-- Guitar Change --
Gone
Song descriptions are added with {} and stop descriptions are added as separate lines surrounded with --. This will also work the other way around when importing setlists from your clipboard, so you can add song and stop descriptions to your setlists in plain text.
Hey @leolabs , @agustinvolpe
Sorry took me so time to update and try the new feature. I much more use the descriptions in every section I created. For example the chorus {guitar sets in} , vers 4 {breakdown, piano only} etc.
is there a way to extract that from my sections, or am I doing something wrong?
Just go to Setlist Edit Mode, press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on Mac) to copy the setlist. You’ll get a toast confirmation that the setlist has been copied to your clipboard. It’ll include all your section descriptions and stop descriptions as well. Then you can paste it wherever you need.
However, at the moment it doesn’t include the section-level descriptions. That’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking to copy all the granular details.
