Escaping an infinite loop from ‘>>>’ structure changes?

Wondering if anyone knows a way to get out of an infinite loop when using >>> to jump between sections (currently jumping with notation in midi clips not locators - although doubt that makes a difference?)

I basically want to go from

Intro >>> Bridge 2
Verse 1
Chorus
Tag
Bridge 1
Bridge 2
Vamp >>> Verse 1 (second time round Vamp >>> Chorus 2)
Chorus 2

When it reaches the the Vamp the second time round i’d like to escape the infinite loop and move to the Chorus 2

Currently my workaround is to midi cue ‘next section’

However in this case the vamp is 2 seconds long kind of transitioning chord and I need to cue it to cancel the jump with my hands whilst playing keyboard :sweat_smile:

Hey @Simon,

The easiest solution here might be to duplicate the Vamp section so you have one that transitions to Verse 1 and one that transitions to Chorus 2. This would allow you to choose which section you’d like to jump to during Bridge 2, which gives you more time, depending on how long Bridge 2 is.

This is a decent solution and I’ll definitely be using it next time this comes up so thank you :smiling_face:

I do obviously think it would be pretty awesome to be able to escape the infinite loop somehow with just the ableset features though!

I make templates out of all my individual songs and then on my page at set level I do any structure adjustments, it would just mean I don’t have to do any chopping/re-arranging ever on the set level if any structure change of a song was fully possible within Ableset

I can envision arrow indicators on the other side of the ableset setlist page for any time it reaches a section for the second time it uses the second arrow on the right hand side for example

Don’t know if this is possible, but maybe if it was something like

‘Chorus 2 >>> Chorus 1 >>>> Bridge 1’
Any time Ableset sees the second ‘>>>>’ group of 4 it knows to read that command when it reaches that section for the second time?

I don’t know what’s possible, I just think it’s so nice to be able to control so much really flexibly and easily in Ableset that it would be great to only ever have to do editing and chopping in Ableton on my song pages but have the set page be a place you can rearrange songs so to speak purely within Ableset :smiling_face:
