hello everyone,
I have a problem that I can’t solve regarding ableset, ableton and his drumrack more specifically. We shoot tracks on ableton with ableset . The problem I am facing is as follows:
when we launch a sample from a MIDI controller and the track reaches the stop marker, it cuts everything including the sample playing in the drumrack
Do you have a way of preventing this from happening?
Thank you!
Hey @Cyril_Fay, welcome to the forum!
Thanks for the clear description. When a drum rack sample is playing and the transport stops, the sample gets cut.
This is a limitation of Ableton Live itself rather than something AbleSet is doing. AbleSet just stops Live’s transport at the stop marker, and Live cuts the sound at that moment.
I’m not aware of a setting in Live that avoids this. One workaround you could try is running your drum sampler outside of Live’s transport, for example with a standalone sampler like Sitala.
Since it runs in parallel as its own app, your MIDI controller can trigger it directly and Live stopping won’t affect the samples.
Hope that helps!
Hey @Cyril_Fay, adding to this since I had a similar issue with my own band, I usually just put a 1-bar loop at the end of songs that need the drum rack, so that playback doesn’t stop by itself. I can then jump to the next song once I’m ready or stop playback manually to stop all sounds.
Let me know if that would work for you!
