I’m using the new Cues format with the dedicated “SECTIONS” track, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag with count-ins for sections and being able to fade all tracks and cues out.
I use the “Solo click on count-in” option, but since that feature solos the click, it’s muting the SECTIONS track along with my backing tracks. Because of that, my cues are silent during the count-in.
My first thought was to just throw the +CLICK tag onto the SECTIONS track to force it to stay unmuted, but doing that seems to break the track entirely.
Am I missing a simple setting somewhere, or is there a different trick to get this working?
Thanks!
Hey @iamderkis,
You can route both your click and your CUES track to the same Return track in Ableton, and name that Return track with +G:CLICK. That way, AbleSet treats them as part of the same group and solos both together during count-in.
Would that work for your use case?
Thanks for the input!
Adding the +NM tag to the Sections track, takes all of the sections away and causes the cues to stop working.
if I need to, I will go back to routing it through a return track, just trying to avoid that as I am currently using all 12…thanks Ableton for limiting it to that amount
Adding to this, you could also set up a track called CUES +NM.
Let me know how it goes!
I do have a track setup called CUES that I use to add manual cues that are separate from the SECTIONS. It doesn’t play those cues with the +NM either unfortunately.
Hey @iamderkis, could you upload a log package to my Support Inbox so I can take a closer look at your project and what’s going wrong? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”.
I’m looking forward to your reply!
