I had the following problem yesterday. I wanted on my 2nd. Ableton laptop in the rehearsal room control an Abelton live set with iPad via Ableset. Both iPad and computer were in the same Wi-Fi.
However, unlike at home in the network, the PC has only assigned http://localhost as the address. Connection on the iPad was not found.
At home, the Ablenet is called like the computer and then it works with the iPad without any problem. Why could it be that I can’t get a connection?
Different networks can behave differently and some networks block connected devices from communicating with each other. This could be why AbleSet only displayed http://localhost when you were connected to the Wi-Fi network in your rehearsal room.
If you’d like me to take a closer look, please send me a log package. You can create one by clicking on “Create Log Package” in AbleSet’s settings menu. This log package contains information about the current network setup, so it would be best if you created it while being connected to your rehearsal room’s Wi-Fi network.
