Confused on Jump section and guide sounds

When I am jumping from a section to a section later in the song, I notice that Ableset automatically mutes guide and loop guide as the jump approaches. How do I allow a guide to play some sort of cue still while I am jumping?

  • macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (M1)
  • Ableset 2.6.7
  • Ableton Live 11.3.22

Hey @Martin_Anderson,

That’s an interesting case! AbleSet mutes the +GUIDE track when you jump to a different section because the cue on the track will likely not match what comes next.

If you don’t plan on looping the Verse 1 section, you could add a third guide track that doesn’t use any of AbleSet’s flags so it never gets muted.

I could add a third flag, like +LOOPMUTE or something for tracks that should only be muted when you’re in a loop if that helps

Hello,
An idea: a new +JUMPGUIDE tag could handle this situation. When a jump is going to happen this only track won’t be muted. So we can place those cues when a jump is set. What do you think?

Hey @sothi, welcome to the forum, and thank you for your suggestion!

To understand it better, could you let me know what kind of cues you’d put on a +JUMPGUIDE track?

I’m looking forward to your reply!

An example:

It would be great if we could place a cue about OUTRO is coming up to be the next section, when the play is at the end of a TAG (before solo). This could be in the +JUMPGUIDE and this track could than be the only guide track which is not muted. Than if we decide we will go on solo within that play, we can just rename the locator from >TAG >>> OUTRO simply to >TAG and in this case only the +JUMPGUIDE will be muted and not the +GUIDE.

Thank you for elaborating on this! I’ve just implemented this feature and will release it as part of the next beta version for you to try out

Can’t wait to try this out! This is exactly the feature I’ve been looking for, as I’m trying to get a band off of Loop Community’s Prime right now.
