Hello everybody!
I was just wondering if there was a way to manually save on the Canvas. The issue I’m having is that I’ll make a change on the canvas and either it’ll auto save into a new Canvas / duplicate said canvas or, if I leave the page or screen, it won’t save and will revert everything I changed. Is there an option to manually save or is anyone else having this issue?
An interesting thing about it is that the Canvas shows multiple duplicates of the same page but when I go into the files there is only the one canvas file.
I’m currently running the latest version of the Beta, but this issue has been happening throughout all the Betas. I’ve also tried to edit things on my iPad connected to Ableset on my MacBook Pro and the same issue still occurs. Thank you guys for any help you can give!
Hey @SirDandol, thank you for reporting this issue!
I think this might be caused by your canvases being stored in an older format that the first betas used. While this shouldn’t cause any issues, there might be a bug there that I haven’t caught yet.
Could you send me a log package so I can take a look at what might be causing this? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”.
If you like, you can also include a video of the behavior on your end, that often helps with troubleshooting.
If the files are too large to send via email, you can upload them to my support inbox instead.
In the meantime, you could try creating a new canvas and copying the elements from your existing canvas over, then deleting the existing canvas in your Live project folder’s AbleSet/Canvases folder. Newer canvases use their name as a file name, while older ones use a random ID.
I hope this helps and look forward to your reply!
Of course! Thank you for the help! I just submitted everything to the support inbox and I’ll try what you said.
Hey @SirDandol, thank you for the files!
I noticed that for some reason, the canvases have been duplicated as hidden files in your project folder. This might be due to a file sync service like Google Drive or Dropbox, and I think this confused the code AbleSet uses to read and write canvas files.
I’ll make sure to ignore these kinds of hidden files in the next beta which should hopefully solve the issue
