I’ve been using AbleSet with my covers band for ages and it’s become essential. I also own a pair of Even Realities smart glasses, so I built a companion app called AbleShow that puts cues and lyrics in your eye line instead of on the laptop screen.
It works alongside AbleSet rather than replacing anything. It works similarly to the Lyrics in Ableset. It uses named empty clips on a midi track with the free Max for Live device. Whatever you type in the clip name appears in the glasses a bar before it happens. Count-ins, section changes, pedal reminders, lyrics. Beat locked to Live.
Leo kindly said it was OK to share here. It’s free, only catch is it needs the Even Realities G2 glasses. I am considering porting to other glasses, starting with MentraOS.

Awesome!!! I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time now, waiting for a more finished smart glass (one that doesn’t depend on a separate system).
The question that immediately comes to mind (sorry if it’s silly): does it cause eye strain? My reasoning is that the retina has to focus at different distances, like zooming in/zooming out, to read (the main cause of fatigue).
I hope it doesn’t happen to you at a show if you haven’t already.
Yeah I think we are a generation or two out from a “finished” smart glasses. I think people are still trying to figure out what the product actually is, but I find Even G2s to be the closest to what I want.
No it’s not silly, it’s a good question. I’ve found the full colour monitor style glasses (Viture etc) definitely cause eye strain, particularly if you are trying to use them for productivity.
I’ve not had that issue with the G2s because it’s more of a HUD with a pretty small display size (640 × 350) designed for glancing rather than long reading sessions. It’s kind of in your peripheral vision rather than dominating.
For AbleShow it’s fine, I personally set up the cues sparingly so I’m never spending longer than a second reading.
