Blank Ableset Screen

Ableset isn’t displaying anything but a blank screen.
Ableton is saying ablest is connected however there nothing there at all.

The more information you include, the better. If you like, you can also attach images or videos.

Please fill out these values to make it easier to troubleshoot:

  • OS and Version: (Sequoia 15.1)
  • Version of AbleSet: (2.7.1
  • Version of Ableton Live: (11.3.12)

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the latest version of AbleSet! To troubleshoot this, could you send me a log package so I can examine what might be causing this? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”.

You can upload the log package to my support inbox.

Hi I can't do this as I can't see the window it's blank.

There isn't anything on the screen for me to do this

Oh, you’re right, I didn’t think about that! Could you try deleting and re-installing AbleSet and check if that helps?

You could also try resetting AbleSet by removing the preferences folder located at /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/ableset

Hi

I've tries reinstalling and this still hasn't worked.

I've been into the directory you quote and there isn't an ableset folder showing in the application support directory

I have renistallled and found the preferences folder and deleted it and it still hasn’t worked

I did renew my license at the weekend and it hasn't worked since then

Hey @Stuart_Moran,

Could you try installing an older version of AbleSet and check if that works?

If so, you should be able to create a log package using the older version which will still contain the log files of the newer version.

You can find a list of all versions on the Changelog page.

So I have totally reset my mac to factory default.
I now have ableset back on my screen.
The problem now is I can't click on anything. I can't press play from ableset or skip to different songs or different parts of songs..
So by reinstalling I've fixed the blank screen now I have new issues
The ableset plugin is setup in ableton.
I've tried it also on an iPad and my phone and i still can't control Ableton.

I’m glad to hear you got AbleSet to show the status window properly again. Regarding the issue with AbleSet not responding to clicks, there was a bug I accidentally introduced in AbleSet 2.7.2 which I fixed in AbleSet 2.7.4.

Could you try updating to the latest version and check if that helps? You can either update through the app itself or download it from the website.

So I still cant click on anything.

I cant press play and I cant skip between

I cant change settings

Safari and I’ve tried Google Chrome are both un responsive

Hey @Stuart_Moran,

That’s weird, the latest version shouldn’t have these kinds of issues anymore.

Could you check if you locked the user interface by chance? If that’s the case, you should see a closed lock or a key symbol on the bottom left of the screen. To unlock it, click the icon. If you’ve set a password for AbleSet, you might have to enter it to unlock the user interface.

If that doesn’t fix the issue, could you send me a video of what you see on your screen?
