BETA - what are the steps to try a BETA version?

I tried to install the most recent beta, without doing any UNinstall of 2.7.4, and the beta gave an error (something about “script not found”).
So I re-installed 2.7.4.

But, what are the right steps to try a Beta version?
Uninstall 2.7.4? (and if so, should I Deactivate the license first?)
Other?

  • **OS and Version: WIndows 11
  • **Version of AbleSet: 7.4
  • **Version of Ableton Live: 11.3.3

You just download it and it should work. You can also keep multiple versions on your computer and use them interchangeably. I always use the latest beta but keep the previous version available

Well, hmmm, My windows 11 does not show me 2 installed versions of Ableset (I thought under “APPS” I would see an “Ableset ver 2.7.x” and also a “Ableset Beta 2.8.x” ( so I could choose which to launch).

And the installer does not ask for a \folder during install, so it seems like Prod and Beta is all co-mingled (the .json files are in same location, etc).

How do I get 2 distinct installs?

Hmm. It must be overwriting the original when downloaded. I can try installing it tomorrow on a windows pc and see what happens.
