Autostop broken behavior since update

Updated to v3.0 of AbleSet and ran a practice with it last week but noticed that the autostop seemed to be reversed. For example, the first two songs in my set should run together and then auto-stop before the third song which has a period ahead of the name in the marker (see image.) Rather than song 1 going into 2 then stopping at 3 like usual, it stopped after song 1, then auto ran into song 3 at the end of 2.

I updated to v3.0.5 today, and now every single song shows autostop in performance view except the last song in the list, and I’ve tested the end of each song and it does stop even on the songs that should run right into the next. Did something change with using a period before a track name, or how can songs automatically run together now?

Also, I still haven’t been able to get AbleSet to see my actual hostname on MacOS Sequoia, it will only say localhost despite changing it at the system level.

Please fill out these values to make it easier to troubleshoot:

  • OS and Version: macOS Sequoia 15.7.3
  • Version of AbleSet: 3.0.5
  • Version of Ableton Live: 12.3.5 Standard

Hey @dotdude, welcome to the forum!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with AbleSet 3 and your project. To troubleshoot this, could you send me a log package including your project file? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”. Then upload it to my Support Inbox so I can take a look at it.

If you like, you can also include a screen recording of your project and the issue, that often helps with troubleshooting as well.

I’m looking forward to your reply!

Hey @dotdude, thank you for the log package!

I just took a look at it and it seems like you had some stop overrides in your setlist. The easiest way to remove them all is to reset your setlist. To do this, open the setlist editor, then click the little trash icon at the bottom of the editor.

Alternatively, you can click the three-dot icon next to each song and check that “Stop After Song” is toggled off.

You could also toggle the stop behavior for all songs using the stop toggle below the last song in the setlist, but it seems that there’s a bug with songs that already have a stop marker in the arrangement, so it doesn’t work properly at the moment. I’ll fix this in the next update.

Let me know if this helps!

Hey Leo! Unfortunately neither of those approaches worked. Resetting all of the songs kept the same behavior, as did removing all of the songs and re-adding them. I could only add them with the first two running together and everything else stopping.

When going into the triple-dot menu for each song the option to turn off stop after song is disabled in the on position. Clicking doesn’t do anything to turn it off.

Any suggestions?

Actually I just figured out how to get it working. I went into the Ableton session and removed the period from before each track marker name where it should be auto-stopping, and then I was able to reset the setlist and toggle stops on where wanted directly in AbleSet. Seems it should be managed via the app instead of in Ableton with the new version, or a possible bug?
