Adding new lyric track image files require restart of Ableset and Ableton

Hello! I’ve been using the “Image Lyrics Track Generator” tool for several weeks now to convert multi-page PDFs of sheet music into individual PNG images with Ableton clips. It’s very handy, but I’m encountering the following issue for each new song and wanted to report:

Once a new lyric set file is generated from my uploaded PDF via the tool, I use Mac’s Finder to copy the generated “Lyrics” folder (containing the converted PNG images) into the Ableton set folder. Then, from Ableton’s browser, I drag the newly generated “Sheet” track from the Lyric image set fil into my session. In Ableset, I’m now able to navigate to the newly created “Sheet” lyric view, and I see several “file not found” references in red. I quit Ableton and Ableset, restart both, and all of my images now work perfectly.

Restarting the applications is only a small inconvenience, and I’ve been doing this for a few weeks, but I realized I haven’t taken the time to report this and ask whether it’s intentional/required, or whether I’m doing something wrong. Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hey @gracebhm, thank you for reporting this issue!

Images should be available immediately after adding them to the lyrics folder, without requiring a restart of AbleSet. I just tried this out on my machine to confirm.

To figure out why this isn’t working on your end, could you send me a log package? You can create one by opening AbleSet’s status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right, and then selecting “Create Log Package”. You can then upload it to my support inbox.

If you like, you can also include a video showing this issue. That often helps with troubleshooting.

I’m looking forward to your reply!

Thanks for the response, guys. @leolabs, I just uploaded the log file and also sent the URL for a screen recording I made of what is happening. I sent them via the link to your support inbox. Thanks for looking into this!

I’ve always had the same issue. Just been living with it…
