Add custom countdown timer to Lyrics view

Would there be any way to add a custom countdown timer (manually set) that can be displayed on the Lyrics page?

This would be different to the Set Time Remaining timer. My artist wants to see a countdown timer for how long we have left in an allocated set time, so that he can decide during the show to add/remove songs from the setlist.

Something with the ability to start the countdown when you launch a specific song (Intro), or even just something I can start manually with a midi command.

At the moment, there isn’t a way to start a custom countdown timer via MIDI.

However — if the goal is for the artist to see how much set time is left while reading lyrics, you can do that using a Canvas:

  1. Create a Canvas
  2. Add a Lyrics View element
  3. Add the Remaining Set Time template to the same canvas

The Remaining Set Time shows how much time is left based on the songs still in the setlist.
So while you can’t manually set the timer, it does give the artist a clear sense of how much time’s left and whether they should add or skip a song in the moment.

Would that work for your use case?

Hey Agus!

Unfortunately this doesn’t help in my situation. I’m already displaying Remaining Set Time, but the artist wants to see remaining time of the alloted show length to be able to add/remove songs.

I’m talking to Leo about this, so we’ll see where we end up!
