Ableton performance on M3 Pro/Max

I’m about to switch from an Intel Mac to M3 Max.
Recently saw some videos and ran into this in Reddit, regarding Ableton

Would love to read about your own experiences on playback and live performance running Ableton and AbleSet on M3 Pro/Max processors.

Kinda makes me wanna keep my good old i7😂

We run Ableton in an M2 Pro and it works flawlessly. We do keep the buffer size below 256 though for the reason mentioned but we have never had any issues or crashes :crossed_fingers:

We’re running Ableton on an M1 Pro and keep the buffer at 128 samples, which has worked well for us so far. The CPU usage never exceeds ~20% even with loads of live audio processing, so I’m not worried about dropouts.

Wondering if nearly 1 year on anyone here has tried Ableton/Ableset on any newer machines?

Still the problem mentioned above?

I’m looking to upgrade my personal machine from 2019 intel to M4 Pro chip

You still have to set the buffer at lower settings to prevent the newer Macs from jumping to the efficiency cores.

Hi, using Ableset on Macbook pro M3 max 14 CPU 36 RAM, no problem at all. My Ableton set it s more then 200 songs as I in charge to run tracks for coverband. Very good machine.
