AbleSet, Dante and now with MIO network overload

Describe your issue here:

So my Set up is a MAC M1 using directout exbox MD as a audio interface and network switch.

My System has been working fine but the moment I add in the iconnectivitly MioXM to the mix. I get a network overload with the network flash lighting going solid indicating system has frozen with no control, powercycling the Mio is the only way to get control again.

So the Dante system and MioXM works fine on its own without AbleSet but the issue is when I put all three products together.

Its maybe the way I had the RTP routed it was creating a loop.
I changed that by only routing 1 of the RTP to only 1 Mac instead of both like I did before.
It doesn’t loop and freeze now, but now I’m getting random dropouts of the audio of the Dante.

another issue I need to get resolve help!!.

Please fill out these values to make it easier to troubleshoot:

  • OS and Version: (e.g. macOS Ventura 13.3)
  • Version of AbleSet: (e.g. 2.2.3)
  • Version of Ableton Live: (e.g. 11.3.3)

Are the MacBooks, exbox.md, and Mio all connected to the same switch?

Yes all on the Same network housed on the Exbox

Do you mean you are connecting the Ethernet from the Mio directly to one of the ports on the exbox.md? Have you tested with an external unmanaged switch?

Are you seeing errors or latency spikes in Dante Controller?

yes Im connecting the Ethernet from the Mio directly to the Xbox.MD - and this works when its Mio and Exbox.MD on its own.

It also Works when it is Exbox.MD used as the switch and ABLESET

The problem happens when I try use all 3 systems.

There wasn’t any errors or packets that dropped that I remember. it was just happening.

Give it a shot with a dedicated unmanaged switch between. It’s best practice to keep your MIDI network completely separate from your Dante audio network either via managed switches and VLANs or by physically running two networks (different adapters).
