AbleSet 3.0.0-beta.30

This is hopefully the last beta before AbleSet 3 goes live :rocket:

  • Added tags for the current and next song as OSC values (docs)
  • Added the stop description of the next song as an OSC value
  • Added optional scrollbars to the song details popover when the screen is too small
  • Replaced all AbleSet icons with the new version
  • Improved the setlist numbering system so it excludes non-songs marked with [nosong]
  • Fixed section progress bars not moving as expected

I’m also working on improving the documentation on beta.ableset.com. Feel free to check it out and let me know if anything’s missing or could be improved further.

Installed without any issues.

I noticed on beta 28 that the case of a track group name causes unexpected results. The same behavior remains in beta 30. I don’t know when it started.

In both the Ableset mixer and performance pages, all characters following the first lower-case letter are discarded.

Examples:

“+G:PanIC” results in “P”.

“+G:PANic” results in “Pan”.

“+G:PANIC” results in “Panic”.

“+G:PANIC-TRACK” results in “Panic-Track”.

If possible, I would like the case to be preserved.

Thank you very much for your work on this app!

Mike

Hey Michael!

Yes, that’s actually expected behavior.

For track groups to show up correctly in the AbleSet mixer, their names need to be ALL CAPS.

Once they’re uppercase, everything should display as expected.

Hope that helps!

Not sure this is expected behavior:
the mixer automatically recognizes a click track (so without the +CLICK). When adding a +NM the click track disappears from the mixer. Only when I add +CLICK (so track name is: CLICK +NM +CLICK) it reappears.

The beta documentation is amazing. That must have been quite a mountain of
work, week by week, to integrate (more than a year? of) beta features into
clear documentation. Exciting times!

At first look, I see info about the API but not much about the Canvas.

Also, I probably missed this but it would be nice to see a summary of the
“+” flags that can be added to track names (and when there are nuances,
like Uppercase requirements, and, a track named CLICK does not need +CLICK,
and if uppercase is required, spell that out
)

Looking forward to further consuming the formidable amount of amazing
features now documented in 3.x

All the best Leo!

Is there a way to download the Docs? I would love to have them accessible without an internet connection :passenger_ship::sweat_smile:

Thank you!

@Addy_Walters yes! Just head to this page and choose the print option (preferably on Google Chrome) to download the entire documentation as a PDF file

Hi Leo,

Could I please request that you add support for additional time signatures to the LRC Lyrics Track Generator? It currently only supports 4/4. Thank you — you’re a genius!

Do you have some plan to add the feature to add the same song twice in a setlist in Ableset 3 ?

@Arno_Schlijper that’s a good find, thank you for reporting it! I’ll ship a fix for this with the final release

@nevillewhitemusic I just published docs about the Canvas and a separate page with all flags. You can check them out here:

Let me know if you’re missing anything or think anything could be improved

@GOODSHOW that’s already possible. Just change the number in the 2nd field. For example, like this for a 3/4 measure track:

Or like this for a 7/8 one:

Let me know if that helps

How to handle a space between two words? for example AC GUIT?

@Arno_Schlijper you can use a dash, e.g. +G:AC-GUIT :slight_smile:

Yes, but then you get a dash  _ & . don’t work either

@Arno_Schlijper sorry for the late reply on this one! You can now use _ in group names for a space. Let me know if this works for you
