AbleSet 3.0.0-beta.24

  • Added little color previews to the text and background color tabs in the canvas editor
  • Moved the canvas delete button into the “Canvas Settings” tab header to save space
  • Added a placeholder in the OSC command log when no commands have been sent yet
  • Fixed AbleSet not marking the next song as active after jumping in Multi-File Projects
  • Fixed AbleSet sending too many requests to Live at once in larger projects, potentially leading to missing data
  • Fixed canvases being allowed to have empty names

3 posts were split to a new topic: AbleSet jumps to next song too late

I was able to use the asterisk (*) to deactivate a section.

ie *Count In

This behavior doesnt seem to work when trying the Beta, has it been moved or perhaps removed?

Hey Aja, welcome to the forum!

In AbleSet, the * prefix is used only for ignored locators. When a locator name starts with *, AbleSet will simply ignore it — this is likely where the confusion comes from.
This is useful for adding notes in your Live set, like:

* Check tempo

However, this applies only to locators, not to MIDI clips that define sections. The * prefix does not work on section clips and was never meant to disable sections there or anywhere else in the session.

You can find this documented here .

Hope this helps clarify!

Oh interesting. That does clarify how to use the * prefix. I must have found use in an unintended bug from 2.7! This is ok tho as I can easily work around this workflow. Thank you for the detailed response!

@Aja if you’d still like to exclude section clips, you can do so by deactivating them in Live. You can do this by right-clicking a clip and selecting “Deactivate Clip” or by selecting a clip and pressing 0 on your keyboard.

I hope this helps!
