A Gig has several "Sets" -- assigning songs to "Sets" (within a Setlist)

This Feature Request is for both Multi-Project mode, and normal single …als file mode –

The ability to assign songs to a “SET” (sub-set of the “Setlist”…see note at bottom)

Sets have names…like, “Set1” “Set2” “Encore”, etc. And perhaps, the screen interface would include +/- (expand/collapse) functionality, allowing, for instance, the user to see all the specific 11 songs in Set2, and above Set2 see a single line for Set1 (collapsed), and below all the SET2 detail, a single line for Set3 (collapsed). Collapsed SETS can be expanded with a single mouse click…which is nice for onstage). And it would be helpful if there was an elapse time for each (sub) “SET”.

note: Yes, the word “SET” starts getting over-used and messy here. For context, in my musical world, I have “gigs” or “performances” (or “projects”), where several “SETS” will be played, each having a “setlist” of songs…sorry, it’s messy.

That’s a great idea! I had already thought of adding a feature that would allow users to add custom non-song items, like headers, or notes, to the setlist, which might solve this use case as well.

Yes, a “header”. If a number of songs could be given a header (or a #tag perhaps).
A plus would be if the header (the “set”) could be visually collapsed/expanded (similar to the way Sections can be shown/not shown under a Song).

OH YES!

I have been thinking this would be great for a while now. At the moment I have to have ‘dummy’ songs called ‘Set 1’ ‘Set 2’ etc to mark the set breaks during the night.
Being able to add comments in a set list view would be awesome. Not only for marking sets within a show but for adding reminders such as
"Tune down accoustic’
‘Remember to tune back up!!!’
‘Introduce the band’
‘Say thank yous’

etc etc

Oh so good!!

Pls Leo…

One of my bands has one large project file that includes hundreds of songs that we can jump to at any moment, thanks to Ableset and the Chrome (on iOS) “Find in Page” function. I have a few dummy locators that are color-coded in Ableset for “main set”, “common alternates”, “extras”, “instrumental set”, etc. A header/notes function in Ableset would be wonderful, and it would be nice to be able to define whether those have a stop or not when they’re reached, color-code them like currently available for titles in Ableset, and perhaps even a default “run time”- effectively a way to insert a labeled 30-second pause in the set, for example.

Custom non-song items in setlists would be really appreciated!
