4 computer running in the same session in sync

Hi Leo, I have a gig that need to do a redundant setup for two playback computer (A,B) and two vocal tune computer (C,D). All the computer are running the same session.

How can I get in sync of those computer? Actually I am not sure the concept about the “Automatic Drift Correction”, I just want to make those computer can find each other in ablenet.

My computer custom IPs:
A - 192.168.0.1 (Playback Main)
B - 192.168.0.2 (Playback Backup)
C - 192.168.0.11 (Vocal Tune Main)
D - 192.168.0.12 (Vocal Tune Backup)

My purpose is to:

  1. A computer can lead C, D computer
  2. When A computer ablenet get down, B computer ablenet will make up.
  3. When A computer ablenet get down, C, D computer will follow to B computer immediately.

How can I set this up in each computer “Automatic Drift Correction”? Thank you Leo!

Hey @dickson, welcome to the forum!

By default, all computers should automatically find each other on the network and synchronize as soon as you have AbleNet enabled on every computer.

If that isn’t the case, you can use the “Connect to Custom IPs” setting to explicitly tell each computer which IP to connect to:

  • A: 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.11, 192.168.0.12
  • B: 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.11, 192.168.0.12
  • C: 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.12
  • D: 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.11

In most cases, you won’t need “Automatic Drift Correction” as the latency on wired networks is low enough not to be noticeable when one of the computers fails.

Let me know if this works for you and if you have any further questions!
