Hi Leo,
another feature request – this one actually comes from our drummer.
He uses image documents in a lyrics track for his drum sheets, and sometimes his handwriting ends up being a bit too small to read comfortably. At the same time, he’d also like to keep the regular scrolling lyrics visible (so basically he is using 2 lyrics tracks at the same time in landscape mode).
Would it be possible to add some kind of zoom function for image documents in lyrics tracks?
Do you think that’s something that could be implemented without too much effort, or would it require major changes?
Best,
Max
Hey @Basstor,
Thanks for your suggestion!
There’s no native zoom attribute for image clips in lyrics tracks right now. The closest thing available is the [full] attribute, which makes an image fill the entire screen. You can add it directly to the clip name, like this:
[img:drums/sheet1.png] [full]
Or apply it to the whole track so all images on it go full-screen by default:
Drums +LYRICS [full]
This won’t give you adjustable zoom levels, but it’ll make images as large as possible.
For the split view — showing both the drum sheet and the regular lyrics at the same time — the way to pull that off is with Canvas. The Lyrics element lets you pick which lyrics track it displays. So you could set up a landscape layout with two Lyrics elements side by side: one pointing to your text lyrics track and one to the drum sheets track, each sized however you like.
As for a proper zoom feature for image clips, I’ll pass the suggestion along
Hope that helps!
Hi Agustin,
that is how I have set it up for our Drummer. Everything is signed with the tag [full], but sometimes it still is too small to see everything, as he wrote his sheets in DinA4, and of course he wouldn’t like to rewrite all his sheets.
Our workaround is, that he opens two tabs with another view each - one for the lyrics, one for his sheets, and in this tab he can zoom in his browser, but not in ableset itself.
I have no clue, how the solution would look like, but a non-stepped zoom functionality as in every other browser only for the image documents would be very very handy!
Best,
Max
