Hey everyone,
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a new feature for the lyrics track generator that automatically aligns lyrics to your songs. You can try it out here.
This feature requires you to be logged in and own at least one license.
The alignment works in two modes:
- Faster takes the existing song and tries to align the lyrics onto it directly. This often works well but it depends on how prominent the vocals are in the song. Aligning should take around 5 seconds per minute of song.
- Better first extracts only the vocal stems from your song and then aligns the lyrics onto those. This takes around 15 seconds per minute of song but can be more precise. To use it, you need to own at least one AbleSet Pro license.
You can still use chords and other symbols in your lyrics. These are stripped out before aligning the lines to your songs and re-added back into your lyrics afterwards.
The feature uses ElevenLabs for the alignment and LALAL.AI for extracting the vocal track from your song, along with some refinements on my end. Uploaded songs are stored for 24 hours so you can preview the alignment results, and then deleted automatically.

I’ve tested it with two songs so far and it has worked great! Didn’t notice any issues.
One question I have though is occasionally there was a line that would show up in the preview box that would be yellow while most were green. It was still aligned the same as the other lyrics, just different color. Does this mean anything?

Hey @iamderkis, that’s great to hear!
The yellow and red lines indicate that the model wasn’t as sure about the alignment as it was with the green lines, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the alignment is less accurate. I’ve left it in as an indicator so you can check these lines manually to make sure everything’s aligned correctly

Yes, this also works with ChordPro lines as well. The chords are removed for alignment and then re-added afterwards

Thank you, Leo… I do have a question that you would probably have a suitable solution to. I know that you can transpose a track for chords in the track, but say in the set list the guitarist is changing the capo from +3 to +2 or even +1 in the set list. what would be the recommendation to keep the guitarist from changing the canvas each time to the corresponding capo?

Yeah, somehow the ability to have a “transpose up or down” button on the canvas or on the lyrics page would be great

I actually thought I might have overlooked that option, but grok said it wasn’t available.
You’re right, that’s something I should be able to implement fairly easily. I’ll add it to my todo list

One more quick thought would be to allow this to translate into and out of the Nashville number system. So if you put chords in originally you could swap to numbers or vice-verse. And also make the transpose options save per device for each set. Like letting the user set a transpose for that song and it remember that per session. I realize that might be a lot but would be cool. Thanks again for all you do!
