Hey @nevillewhitemusic,
Just to make sure I understand your use case: you’re using a Multi-File Project and keep several versions of the same song as separate .als files in the project folder, correct?
When you say you’d like only the most recent version to show up, do you mean in the add dialog (when adding songs to your setlist), or in the setlist itself?
About [nosong]
The [nosong] attribute doesn’t hide a song. It only excludes it from the number of remaining songs and from the song numbering in the setlist. The song is still shown (if the Song/Section numbers toggle is on, that one will not be numbered in the setlist), and it still counts toward the total setlist time unless you also add [0:00].
So even though filenames in Multi-File Projects do support locator notation (AbleSet takes the song name, color, description and duration from the filename), adding [nosong] to your older versions wouldn’t remove them from the list.
In the meantime, the most reliable way to keep older versions out of AbleSet is to store them outside of your Multi-File Project folder.
You can also see how AbleSet reads song info from the filenames in the official tutorial: Song naming and metadata
Also, I’d recommend updating to the latest release.
Would that work for your use case?
